I enjoy living day to day in cotton knit clothing. Cotton feels good against my skin; it is comfortable in all temperatures and launders beautifully. Knit fabric, rather than woven, has stretch that moves with my body—eliminating the binding and restriction that is common in woven garments.Through the clothing of Egyptian Cotton Tshirts, I get to share this comfort with you.
I have had an interest in fabric since my high school days when I began sewing. Combined with my scientific nature—observing both the big picture and the smallest details—I have obsessed over colors, quality, and fit.
In 2016, I worked with a pattern-maker and four X-Large fit models to develop quiet armholes, ease through the back shoulders, a modest taper to the waist, and a gently curved hem for our Essential Crew.
- Adjust the pattern
- Sew a prototype
- Shrink the garment at a commercial dye house
- Reassess the result on the four fit models
Garments change after laundering, so if a fit is to last beyond one wear, laundering needs to be a part of the process.

Many shirts are developed using a medium-sized fit model and scaled outward. They commonly have a straight-sided silhouette. My research showed that real bodies have shape—requiring a modest taper to the waist and ease through the right areas.
In the interest of less restriction, our sleeves have slightly more length and circumference. The neckline is designed to avoid tension—favoring comfort across body types.
As important as comfort is so is one's appearance. Do you feel confident. Does the style suit you. For our shirts, the fabric flows naturally over the body, and the styling is designed to flatter.
Our color palette is intentionally less saturated, making it complementary across a wide range of skin tones. Our sizing and proportions are designed to provide comfort and ease for a broad range of adult body types.
I am devoted to creating garments that can be worn comfortably by those with chemical sensitivities. That commitment guides what I choose to include—and what I leave out. I leave out lycra and spandex.
That same care extends to how I think about the Earth. I value materials and methods that are responsible, and kind to the Earth. My intention is to produce pieces that are made well, worn often, and appreciated over time.
I am also guided by a simple ambition: to make the world’s best T-shirt. Not through trends or claims, but through steady observation, refinement, and care. Each decision—fabric, fit, and finish—is made in service of that aim.
Another part of my philosophy for Egyptian Cotton Tshirts is to keep these garments as accessible as possible. By working directly with our factory and minimizing intermediaries, we are able to offer this level of quality at a relatively modest price while maintaining the integrity of the product.
It also matters to me where your purchase dollars go. Your purchase supports an economically disadvantaged community in Egypt. Egyptian Cotton Tshirts as a small company here in the United States.
